No – both eyes need to be
open during the measurement process. Please use the occluder to cover the eye that’s not being measured.
No – this device needs to be used in lighted conditions. It can be in a lighted room or outside if it’s bright.
Turn the dial slowly and stop immediately when the E FIRST becomes clear.
- Make sure the measurement is performed in a lighted area.
- Remind patient to turn the dial slowly and stop when the E FIRST becomes clear.
- Make sure the device is held in a straight line horizontally at the patient’s eye level – do not slant it.
- Make sure your hands are not fully covering the device, preventing light from getting in. Hold the device with both hands using only your thumbs, index and third fingers.
- Make sure to measure at least 3 times per eye to get an average.
- Clean the lens at the eye piece to make sure it’s clear.

It is important for every measurement to start from +8D to prevent accommodation which might lead to inaccurate readings.
Do not touch the optical parts with your fingers. Clean the device, especially the lens with a soft cloth. Clean and disinfect parts in contact with patients with ethanol.
It’s extremely durable – each ClickCheck™ can do up to 70,000 measurements. Assuming we conduct 3 measurements per eye (to get and average) per user, it could be used on 10,000 patients.
The ClickCheck™ is based on the Badal Principle of Optics, first originated in the 1800s. We have registered patents on the mechanism and the design of the product.
